i've been playing rainbow six vegas a bunch recently in my free time. ive so far leveled up to sargent first class, and just unlocked some new cammo colors. im really diggin the orange cammo for some reason.
i picked this up today from gamestop after reserving it a few weeks ago. the problem is that those cheap ass motherfuckers promised me an Objection! finger-shaped stylus upon pick-up of said reserved game. i went to pick it up and asked "excuse me kind sir, where the fuck is my finger stylus?" i am greeted with a reply of "hell, we only got 10 copies in, and they didnt send any styli (plural of stylus). i promptly told them to go fuck themselves. they have proven to me once again that i should never reserve, buy, sell, or really do any business with EB/Gamestop whatsoever. gg fags. that was the single and only reason i would give your shitty establishment any money. had i known you assdicks would have jewed me out of the sole purpose of reserving it, i would have given my money to best buy.

one of the times when i kissed kristen tonight, a small static electricity spark jumped between our lips, lightly shocking us both. sparks were indeed flying.

i played a Wii today. they had one on display at a loval gamestop. you had to give them your ID so you could use the wiimote and play. the only game they had was excite truck, which i thought sucked, but w/e. i also made a wiimii along with a couple other people who had previously made one. i wish they had some other games (or at least wii sports) because excite truck really sucked. it looked like a ps2 game and played like crap. maybe thats just me, but without force feedback, the tilt system is abysmally horrible for racing games. this may just be me thinking this as a long time console and arcade racing game fan. if you're gonna have a wheel, do it right. if you're gonna have a controller, use a joystick. the tilt system was verry difficult to get used to, and did not give you direct, instentanious feedback as to what your car was doing during different levels of input (something like a 1/8-1/4 second delay between a physical action and seeing it on screen). plus the game seemed to lack polish and refinement and... looked like a crappy ps2 game (mind you, this was playing on a samsung flat LCD HDTV), but it IS a launch title, so i cant knock it too much for that.
so if this experience were all i had to decide on a wii, i would pass. but only because excite truck sucks so much to me. i'm still totally open to seeing what other games can offer, but visually... my fears were only confirmed by these horrible, jaggy, low-res, low-poly, previous-gen graphics. i'd still love to pick one up, but none of the games really stand out to me except maybe zelda (though im not the biggest zelda fan at all). i really want a wii, but no games seem really that worth while. the cross platform games are much better on the other systems; CoD3 might have been better on the wii had it not been single player ONLY. at least that would have made up for it looking half a decade old. and need for speed looks like crap and will suffer from the same steering problems as excite truck (at least for me).
if you notice, i am completely disregarding the ps3. as of now, i really have absolutely no reason to get one. from what i have read about the hardware, their 8-core processor thing (kinda like new dual core processors, but with 8) is very good at hardcore numbercrunching, especially on multiple things at once (or in different locations). because of this, a properly programmed game will likely look much better. however, it also makes it much more difficult to program for, and proper programming may not occur for many cross-platform titles. so far, everything i have read indicates that all ports available on BOTH ps3 and 360 look and run better on the 360, but resistance, while not looking quite as nice, runs much smoother than most 360 games. so, i really dont care about MGS, i've had enough of devil may cry, i havent played a final fantasy game since ff8 (with no time or desire to play new ones), and ive got forza 2 to combat my desire to want gran turismo 5. every other game i would want is available on 360 (as either an exclusive or a port).
anyway, thats my most recent take on the console wars as of today
in semi-unrelated news, circuit city leaks games early. both of these games are not supposed to launch till the 20th, but they were lying out in open carts today (friday) waiting to be stocked. DOAX2 even had a price tag already on it, while sonic's tags were sitting in a pile next to the games.
